Summary

THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES A REVERSING VALVE AND ITS FUNCTION IN A STANDARD REFRIGERATING UNIT USED FOR COOLING A FRUIT AND VEGETABLE STORE. THE DEVICE IMPROVES SYSTEM OUTPUT, PROVIDES A MORE EFFICIENT DEFROST CYCLE AND ENABLES THE SYSTEM TO BE USED ALTERNATELY FOR COOLING AND HEATING DUTIES. SOME SYSTEM COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS ARE NECESSARY TO INCORPORATE THE REVERSING VALVE IN AN EXISTING INSTALLATION.
