Type of article: Article

Summary

NOWADAYS, THE EVAPORATORS OF THE CHILLING AND FREEZING ISOLATED PLANTS ARE ELECTRICALLY DEFROSTED, WHICH GENERALLY INCREASES THE MAXIMUM POWER REQUIRED AND, THUS, THE TOTAL COST OF THE ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION. AN INTERESTING SOLUTION -AS FAR AS DEFROSTING IS CONCERNED -CONSISTS IN THE BY-PASS OF HOT GAS, TAKEN AT THE DISCHARGE OF THE PLANT. IN THE ARTICLE, THIS METHOD OF DEFROSTING BY HOT GAS BY-PASS IS COMPARED WITH THE ELECTRICAL DEFROSTING METHOD.
