Summary
RESULTS OF A TEST STUDY OF THE FREEZE-SEPARATION OF CO2 FROM BINARY N2 -CO2 AND H2 -CO2 GAS FLOWS. THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VARIATIONS OF THE AVERAGE THICKNESS, SPECIFIC WEIGHT, AVERAGE DENSITY AND EFFECTIVE HEAT CONDUCTIVITY COEFFICIENT OF THE CO2 LAYER SEPARATED BY FREEZING AND THE SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF SOLID CO2, THE DENSITY OF CONVECTIVE HEAT AND MASS FLOWS DURING THE LAYER FORMATION PROCESS, WERE DETERMINED. THE AUTHORS ESTABLISHED THAT THE HEAT AND MASS EXCHANGE PROCESS IS NON-STATIONARY OR QUASI-STATIONARY. AN EMPIRICAL RELATIONSHIP WAS OBTAINED, DESCRIBING THE VARIATION WITH TIME OF THE SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF THE CO2 LAYER SEPARATED BY FREEZING.
