TESTS OF INSULATED VEHICLES: EXTRAPOLATION OF TRANSIENT K VALUES.

Author(s) : BOLDRIN B.

Summary

A METHOD IS PRESENTED FOR MEASURING THE K VALUE OF CONTROLLED-TEMPERATURE TRANSPORT VEHICLES. THE METHOD IS BASED ON A REGRESSION OF TRANSIENT K COEFFICIENT VALUES, WITH A TIME INTERVAL DEFINED AS A FUNCTION OF THE TIME CONSTANT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS METHOD IS EMPIRICAL, AND CONFIRMATION WILL BE REQUIRED ; INITIAL EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS SHOW THAT AN ACCURACY BETTER THAN 5 % CAN BE ACHIEVED.
