THE PAPER PRESENTS AN OVERVIEW OF NON-AZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANT BLENDS TECHNOLOGY. THE UNIQUE PROPERTIES ARE EXPLAINED AND MECHANISMS FOR BENEFICIALLY EXPLOITING THESE CHARACTERISTICS ARE EXPLORED. POTENTIAL COP BENEFITS ARE ASSESSED AND OTHER MIXTURE BENEFITS ARE TOUCHED ON. THE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SYSTEM DESIGN, FOR HARDWARE, AND FOR FLUIDS ARE COVERED. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE TEMPERATURE PROFILES OF THE HEAT SINK AND HEAT SOURCE IS EMPHASIZED.
