Since the development of the compression refrigerating unit, absorption refrigeration has been relegated to playing a minor role in non-industrial air-conditioning engineering. The appeal of new, non-polluting energy sources means that a revival of absorption refrigeration can again be envisaged. The author describes processes and equipment.
