IIR document

The application of small Stirling-type cryocoolers in a heart scanner based on superconducting magnetic sensors.

Summary

The design of a heart scanner is presented. It will be equipped with 25 high-critical temperature SQUIDs cooled by means of two small Stirling-type cryocoolers. The magnetic and the mechanical interferences due to the coolers are considered, as well as the thermodynamic aspects of the system.
