The challenges of refrigeration piping compliance in a seismic environment.
Number: pap. n. 35
Author(s) : ODEY M.
Summary
The New Zealand refrigeration piping compliance regulatory regime will be described. Agricultural exports are a significant portion of the NZ national income requiring a large base of supporting food processing and storage refrigeration plants. It is a highly earthquake (seismic) prone country. Recent earthquakes in and near population centres have resulted in the enforcement of previously poorly observed legal requirements which have created unresolved challenges for the refrigeration industry. One of the more significant challenges is that imported equipment is not specified or designed for a seismic environment.
