Summary
COMPARES THE CHARACTERISTICS OF VARIOUS TYPES OF COMPRESSORS. INVESTIGATES HOW THESE CHARACTERISTICS AFFECT THE OPERATION OF GAS ENGINE HEAT PUMPS, USING THE ENGINE DATA OPERATING ON NATURAL GAS AS A BASIS. ALTHOUGH THE EFFICIENCY AND OPERATION OF BOTH TYPES OF COMPRESSOR DIFFER CONSIDERABLY, APPROXIMATELY SIMILAR HEAT CHARACTERISTICS RESULT FROM OPERATION IN GAS HEAT PUMPS. WITH ROTARY COMPRESSOR INSTALLATIONS THE HEAT OUTPUT IS ONLY SLIGHTLY AFFECTED BY THE CONDENSING TEMPERATURE OR THE PRESSURE RATIO. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 19, N 4, 1984, 12, 84-01132.
