Summary
Falling-film crystallisation, which requires refrigerating and heating energy in succession, can be used to attain high purity levels in chemicals. A new design uses crystallisation tubes as either evaporators or condensors in heat pumps. Its advantages include energy savings, lower initial costs and smaller size.
