THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE THE CONSTRUCTION FEATURES AND CHARACTERISTICS OF NEW DOUBLE GAS FILM BEARING RESEARCHED IN THE COURSE OF DEVELOPING THE CRYOGENIC EXPANSION TURBINE. THE OPTIMUM VALUES OF THE INNER AND OUTER CLEARANCE FOR THIS BEARING HAVE BEEN OBTAINED. THE CONTINUOUS STABLE OPERATION OF THE CRYOGENIC EXPANSION TURBINE EQUIPPED WITH THIS BEARING CAN BE ATTAINED. NOWADAYS, THIS NEW TYPE OF GAS BEARINGS HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY APPLIED TO THE CRYOGENIC EXPANSION TURBINE OF THE AIRSEPARATION PLANT AND OIL GAS RECOVERY PLANT. THE OBVIOUS ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF SAVING ELECTRIC COST AND RAISING THE LIGHT OIL PRODUCT HAVE BEEN OBTAINED.
