Summary

THE EFFECT OF VARIOUS REGIMES OF SEED FREEZING: UP TO 77 K (-196 DEG C) ON THE LABORATORY GERMINATION OF SEEDS AND ONTOGENESIS OF PLANTS OBTAINED FROM THEM WAS STUDIED. THE SUGGESTED TECHNIQUE OF INVESTIGATING THE EFFECT OF SEED DEEP FREEZING TESTED ON FISCHER'S PINK SHOWED THAT THE REGIMES OF FREEZING AND THAWING OF SEEDS OF THE SPECIES HAVE AN INSIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON THE LABORATORY GERMINATION BUT UNDOUBTEDLY AFFECT THE ONTOGENESIS ; PRACTICALLY NO DIFFERENCE WAS OBSERVED BETWEEN CONTROL AND EXPERIMENTAL PLANTS TO THE END OF THE VEGETATION PERIOD.
