Author(s) : GESSER H. D., HAMON R. E.

Summary

THE EFFECT OF EXHAUSTS ON VARIOUS METALS IN DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS, NAMELY PULP AND PAPER (TMP STEAM AND PAPER DRIER EXHAUST) AND METAL PAINTING (ACRYLIC BASE, LATEX BASE, AND DRYING OVENS), WAS STUDIED. EXHAUST SAMPLES FROM SOME ENVIRONMENTS WERE COLLECTED AND ANALYZED BY CHEMICAL PROCEDURES TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF CORROSION AND FOULING AND TO HELP IN IDENTIFYING CONDENSABLE GASES IN EACH EFFLUENT. VISUAL EXAMINATIONS OF THE METAL SAMPLES WERE USED IN ESTABLISHING THE EXTENT OF CORROSION AND FOULING.
