THE EFFECT OF POROUS COATING ON CHARACTERISTICS OF PARTIALLY-STABILIZED COMPOSITE SUPERCONDUCTORS COOLED BY BOILING HELIUM.

Author(s) : ANDRIANOV V. V.

Summary

FROM EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS THE AUTHORS SHOW THAT THE APPLICATION OF A POROUS COATING ESSENTIALLY INCREASES THE CRYOSTATIC STABILIZATION LEVEL OF COMPOSITE SUPERCONDUCTORS. USING A POROUS COATING ENABLES ONE TO SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE THE MINIMAL PROPAGATION CURRENT, THE MINIMAL MAINTAINING CURRENT AS WELL AS THE ENERGY OF A THERMAL IMPULSE NECESSARY FOR THE TRANSITION OF A SUPERCONDUCTOR TO THE NORMAL STATE.
