The effects of olfactory substances in indoor air on the well-being of occupants.
Summary
A case study showed that perceived air quality, including perception of odours, varied as a function of air humidity and temperature. Only when "pleasant" odours are kept between the perception threshold and the recognition threshold was it possible to reach the desired levels of olfactory comfort and to lower the dissatisfaction levels of room occupants.
