The exergy analysis of the open-cycle absorption chiller.

Author(s) : LU S. K., ZHANG X. S., MA J. M.

Summary

The principle and characteristics of the open-cycle absorption chiller are introduced. The model is established for the exergy analysis of the wet air and the solution. In the hypothesis operating mode, the process design and the thermal computation are carried for the system. Then each condition parameter of the system is set. Applying the balanced equation, the exergy destruction of each part of the chiller is derived. The chiller has an exergy efficiency of 18.13%. The analysis shows that the site with the maximum losses of exergy is the regenerator. It is discussed that how to reduce the loss of the exergy in the regenerator and how to increase exergy efficiency for the system.
