Summary
THERMAL REGENERATOR EFFICIENCIES PACKED WITH BRONZE SCREEN MATRIX OF VARIOUS SIZE, BLOW PERIODS, HELIUM FLOW RATES, ETC, HAVE BEEN MEASURED BY AN EXPERIMENTAL COMPENSATE METHOD. THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH THE VALUES OBTAINED BY A FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD. THE AGREEMENT IS GOOD AT SHORT BLOW PERIODS WHICH ARE APPLICABLE TO USUAL WORKING CONDITIONS. MANY FACTORS CAUSING THERMAL LOSS WERE ANALYSED AND SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR DESIGNING REGENERATORS ARE PROPOSED.
