Summary
According to the annual report by Electricité de France, the market for individual air-conditioners remained stable in 1996, at 183,100 units, while sales of reversible devices (heating in winter and cooling in summer) continued to rise. Among the trends: household units have caught up with office and commercial units; sales remain slow for central air-conditioning; most sales are to offices and for replacements.
