Summary

The poultry meat production is nowadays the first meat production in France. About 55,000 persons are employed from the farms to the slaughterhouses. More than 40% of this production is exported, either towards third countries or towards other EU markets. The financial balance of the exchanges exceeds seven billions FRF. If the European consumption increases by 1 to 1.5% per year, the international poultry trade grows more or less by 3 to 4% per year. The French poultry business has to take up several challenges if wants to secure its future.
