The giant magnetoresistance of magnetic multilayers.
Author(s) : NGUYEN VAN DAU F.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The resistance of a multilayer magnetic system changes greatly whan a magnetic field is applied. This is giant magnetoresistance. It was discovered in 1988 and has since been applied to the scanning head of magnetic recorders and various types of sensors. This article reviews the effects of giant magnetoresistance seen in magnetic multilayers or other magnetic lamellar structures.
