The heat pump market in selected Central and Eastern European countries.

Author(s) : MOTTAL R.

Summary

Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia are members countries of the IIR. A survey on heat pump status was carried out in 1994 in cooperation with the IEA. The IIR did the survey for these countries, along with five others (China, Israel, Mexico, Portugal, Turkey). The present poster therefore reports on the market situations up to the beginning of 1994. Due to their transition to a market economy, these countries have encountered similar difficulties since 1990, including big increases in energy prices and a drop in industrial production, both of which have influenced the development of heat pump use. Heat pump markets in the countries concerned are really new, and are therefore not comparable to the existing markets considered not only the existing markets, but also promising applications and market trends.
