Heat pumps markets in Australia.

Summary

Heat pumps have the potential to substantially reduce CO2 emissions while maintaining heat delivery levels. The heat pump industry in the state of Victoria and in Australia generally consists mostly of suppliers of imported systems, some of which are locally assembled. There is local manufacture of some of the components, particularly heat exchangers. Heat pumps are an established technology overseas in Japan, Europe and the US and is a recognised industry in its own right. In Australia, heat pumps are not well established and are attached to the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.
