Summary
After the illustration of the fundamentals for ice storage systems, a newly designed ice storage system, the ice tower, is described. The characteristics of the ice tower are maximum storage capacity and melting capacity for the smallest area. Ammonia is used as the refrigerant. The realized plants show a low-cost and secure operation.
