Type of article: Article
Summary
The efficiency of existing air separation plants can be considerably increased at the cost of additional separation of waste fraction. Various designs of nitrogen plants, making it possible to recirculate a portion of waste fraction through the distillation unit and thus to increase the degree of nitrogen recovery, were considered. Thermodynamic analysis of the nitrogen plant was performed and the most efficient approaches for new designs are presented.
