Summary

In 1997-98, experiments on four cultivars of potted freesia were conducted by the Dutch company Van Staaveren. After harvest, the freesia corms were stored for 4.5 to 9.5 months at the following temperatures: 0.5-3 °C, 14-18 °C and 28-30 °C. The effects of temperature, storage period and corm size on further growth, development and decorative values of freesia were examined. Good results were obtained with corms stored at a temperature of 28-30 °C for 15 weeks before planting.
