Summary

Natural gas is stored and transported in a liquid state because its liquid density is 600 times greater than gas density. The storage and transportation of LNG (liquefied natural gas) are accompanied with cryogenic cooling processes which require various cryogenic equipment including compressor, pump, valve, heat exchanger and auxiliary components. The LNG & Cryogenic Equipment Test and Facility Centre will fill the role of test and evaluation of these cryogenic equipment. In addition, its role will be extended to the cryogenic equipment for the other cryogenic field. The centre will be designed and established by KIMM (Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials) in cooperation with Gyeongnam Technopark, Gimhae City and Gyeongsangnam-do.
