Summary

THE FIRST LNG TERMINAL BUILT IN THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA RECEIVED ITS FIRST METHANE CARRIER AT THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER 1986 AFTER THE COMMISSIONING OF 3 TANKS OF AN UNITARY VOLUME OF 100,000 M3 AND BUILT ACCORDING TO THE CONCEPT OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE EXTERNAL ENVELOPE AND STAINLESS STEEL MEMBRANE. A 4TH SIMILAR TANK WAS COMMISSIONED IN JULY 1987. THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS TERMINAL. THE DATA CONCERNING QUANTITIES OF LNG IMPORTED ARE GIVEN, TOGETHER WITH THE VOLUMES OF NATURAL GAS DELIVERED EITHER THROUGH THE LOW PRESSURE NETWORK OR THROUGH THE HIGH PRESSURE NETWORK.
