Summary
Food styles have been changing recently with the increase of imported food due to fewer restrictions and the influence of the gourmet boom. Refrigerated warehouses have been built in the harbour areas of big cities. The authors present the Maeshima distribution centre, completed in June 1997, with the latest automated refrigeration warehouse technology.
