THE MESOSCOPIC BEHAVIOUR OF JOSEPHSON JUNCTIONS WITH RANDOMLY DISTRIBUTED ABRIKOSOV VORTICES.

Type of article: Article
Summary
THE DEPENDENCE OF THE CRITICAL CURRENT ON THE STRENGTH OF AN EXTERNAL MAGNETIC FIELD IS CALCULATED FOR A JOSEPHSON JUNCTION WITH RANDOMLY DISTRIBUTED ABRIKOSOV VORTICES WHOSE AXES ARE PARALLEL TO THE JUNCTION PLANE. IT IS REPORTED THAT BOTH PERIODIC OSCILLATIONS AND RANDOM (< MESOSCOPIC >) OSCILLATIONS WITH AN AMPLITUDE OF THE ORDER OF THE QUANTITY PROPER CAN BE OBSERVED. SUCH MESOSCOPIC BEHAVIOUR IS EXPLAINED BY THE RANDOMNESS OF THE JOSEPHSON PHASE IN THE JUNCTION.
