ENERGY CONSERVATION STANDARDS SPECIFICALLY FOR RETAIL STORE ARCHITECTURE HAVE RECENTLY BEEN ADDED TO THOSE PREVIOUSLY ISSUED FOR RESIDENTIAL AND OFFICE BUILDING ARCHITECTURE. THE GUIDELINES FOR RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE ARE BASED ON A < HEAT LOSS COEFFICIENT >, WHILE THOSE FOR OFFICE BUILDINGS ARE BASED ON PAL AND CEC. IN THE CASE OF OFFICE BUILDINGS AND RETAIL STORES, STANDARDS ARE EXPRESSED BY MEANS OF A PAL WHICH TAKES INTO ACCOUNT COOLING LOAD AND HEATING LOAD AS WELL AS BY MEANS OF A CEC, WHICH COULD ALSO BE CALLED A COEFFICIENT FOR AIR-CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT EFFICIENCY.
