Summary

This paper reviews the performance of a range of technologies currently being installed in buildings to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. The technologies considered in this paper are: ground source heat pumps; solar photovoltaics; solar
fibre optic lighting. The importance and common pitfalls of monitoring systems are also discussed with respect to renewable incentive schemes such as the Feed in Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive.
