Summary

Only bare rooted Phalaenopsis orchids can be exported to the United States from Taiwan. Being bare rooted, these plants may be exposed to various environmental stresses that sometimes lead to low survival rates. The results suggest that the shipment of Phalaenopsis with bare roots to foreign countries should not be a problem as long as the simultaneous presence of two stresses is avoided before replanting. Stresses mainly involved dehydration and lack of light.
