The realization and evaluation of utilizing natural cold source in display cabinet system.

Author(s) : CHEN T., LIN W., YU K., et al.

Summary

By utilizing inhaled outdoor cold air in cold seasons, the innovative cold-blast cabinets system can perform the refrigeration function well as the traditional refrigerated display cabinets and reduce electric power consumption. The paper presents a concrete plan for realizing this system, and set up the experimental bench. The experiment results show that a consistent distribution of airflow velocity in dual parallel cabinets can be actualized by modulating and switching airflow distribution equipment; the temperature field in the cold-blast cabinets system is as homogeneous as the traditional one; when the outdoor temperature meets the cold storage demand, this system can save 80% of energy consumption compared with using refrigerated system. Additionally, the paper analyzes weather condition's influence on cabinets' temperature in cold-blast cabinets system, puts forward a solution to this issue and also analyzes the utilizable degree of cold air source in particular areas and seasons.
