The rise of scroll efficiency by refrigerant injection.

Author(s) : CEJKA Z.

Summary

Scroll compressors are widely used in the refrigeration, AC and heat pump technologies. The paper describes how to increase the performances of a system using scroll compressors in a heat pump application. The method called EVI (enhanced vapour injection) is more and more used also in some heat-pump installations. The EVI method has its origin in the system of discharge temperature decreasing using liquid refrigerant. The combination of a heat exchanger after the condenser and special type of scroll could significally influence the scroll efficiency improvement.
