LIQUID HYDROGEN IS BY FAR THE MOST HAZARDOUS LIQUIFIED GAS PRODUCED, STORED AND TRANSPORTED BY NORMAL MEANS. THIS PAPER GIVES A DETAILED ACCOUNT OF THE HAZARDS SURROUNDING STORAGE AND TRANSPORT OF HYDROGEN AS A CRYOGENIC LIQUID AT NEAR ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. THERE FOLLOWS A GOOD COVERAGE OF DESIGN POINTS FOR STORAGE OR TRANSPORT VESSELS OF A DOUBLE-SHELL, VACUUM-INSULATED TYPE, TOGETHER WITH FIRE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT METHODS. D.W.H.
