Summary

A PREVIOUS STUDY ON 542 CONTAINERS SHOWED THAT 389 OF SPECIFIC SIZE WERE EACH USED FOR ONLY ONE PARTICULAR ITEM OF FROZEN FOOD. THIS ARTICLE GIVES RESULTS OF STUDY ON 272 TO SHOW HOW THESE CONTAINERS, HAVING DIFFERENT LENGTHS AND WIDTHS, ADAPT TO THE STANDARD SHIPPING PALLET OF 48 INCHES X 40 INCHES (1.20 X 1.00 M). ONLY 5 CASES OF THE 272 COULD FULLY UTILISE THE PALLET SURFACE. THESE FIVE WERE USED FOR SHIPPING ONLY 19 DIFFERENT FROZEN FOOD ITEMS OUT OF 891 HANDLED BY THE FIRM. SIXTEEN CASE SIZES ARE LISTED THAT FULLY UTILISE THE PALLET SURFACE. C.R.F.
