Summary

The investigated thermodynamic properties for ammonia: compressibility factor, residual enthalpy and residual heat capacity in the temperature and pressure range 500-760 K and 100-22,000 kilopascals, respectively, which correspond to the conditions in the ammonia converter, can be satisfactorily described by the Martin-Hou equation of state if its parameters were obtained by the simultaneous presentation of the investigated thermodynamic properties using the form of the multiproperty objective fonction, employed in this work. The analysis of the obtained results has shown that the choice of the equation of state, of the objective function for equation of state parameters determination, as well as the range of temperature and pressure data selected, crucially influence the performances of the established correlations.
