The thermodynamic, thermoeconomic and environomic modelling and optimization of energy systems: discussion and applications.

Author(s) : SPAKOVSKY M. R. von

Type of article: Article

Summary

In engineering practice, thermodynamic, economic and environmental aspects are taken into account either separately or in some limited combination. The purpose of the article is to discuss the principal characteristics of these approaches. Three applications are presented: 1) a bath furnace; 2) design and operation of a gas turbine cycle; 3) thermoeconomic modelling and optimization of a gas turbine cogeneration/heat pump facility with thermal storage.
