Summary

R12 has to be replaced by R134a. In household refrigerators, it was observed that the efficiency of R134a was not as high as with R12. To overcome this inconvenient, it is possible to use the energy of expansion of most of the fluid in the main evaporator, through an ejector, to obtain, at a lower pressure, the evaporation of the remaining fluid in the freezer evaporator. Improvement of efficiency is then about 10-15% with R134a (instead of 8-13% with R12 with the same ejector system).
