Type of article: Article

Summary

MEASUREMENTS WERE MADE OF THE EFFECT OF MAGNETIC FIELDS ON A SMALL 20 K REFRIGERATOR AND FIELD PERTURBATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRESENCE OF THE REFRIGERATOR NEAR A MAGNET. FIELDS UP TO 0.07 T DO NOT AFFECT THE REFRIGERATOR. THE REFRIGERATOR DRIVE MOTOR TESTED HAS 1.0 KG OF IRON WHICH PERTURBS THE STATIC FIELD ; HOWEVER, ALTERNATING FIELD EFFECTS ARE NEGLIGIBLE.
