The viability of heat pumps for the heating of swimming pools in South Africa.
Author(s) : GREYVENSTEIN G. P., MEYER J. P.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The life-cycle cost of a heat-pump heating system is calculated and this cost is compared to the life-cycle cost of a solar-heating system. The economic advantages of heat pumps over solar-heating systems are assessed as functions of geographical location, swimming-pool tariff, and type of pool (covered or uncovered).
