Summary
AN ANALYTICAL METHOD HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO PREDICT THE THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF AN EXCHANGER WHEN A DEVIATION OCCURS BETWEEN THE DESIGN-POINT AND THE ACTUAL WORKING CONDITIONS. THE METHOD MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO ESTIMATE THE EXCHANGER CHARACTERISTIC PARAMETERS AT THE MODIFIED WORKING STATE. MOREOVER, AT THE DESIGN STAGE, THE USE OF EXCHANGER EFFECTIVENESS GRADIENT VECTOR CONCEPT PROVIDES A BASIS FOR COMPARING THE STABILITY OF SEVERAL PROPOSED EXCHANGERS UNDER VARIABLE LOAD CONDITIONS. SAMPLE PROBLEMS ILLUSTRATE THE APPLICATION OF THE METHOD AND THE USE OF PRESENTED CHARTS.
