THERMODYNAMIC NON-EQUILIBRIUM, SIMILAR TO THE THERMAL NON-EQUILIBRIUM OF SOURCES AND THE DYNAMIC NON-EQUILIBRIUM OF THE WORKING MEDIUM IS A CONDITION FOR HEAT TRANSFORMATION INTO WORK. THERMAL NON-EQUILIBRIUM IS ANALOGOUS TO THE INTEGRAL FACTOR FOR HEAT DIFFERENTIAL CALCULUS 1/T. IT IS POSSIBLE TO DEFINE TWO INTEGRALS, WHICH ARE ANALOGOUS TO THE CLAUSIUS INTEGRAL, TWO QUANTITIES WHICH ARE AN ANALOGY FOR ENTROPY AND TWO ANALOGOUS QUANTITIES OF MEDIUM EXERGY FOR ENERGY AND HEAT-FLOW EXERGY FOR REVERSIBLE ISOBARIC AND ISOCHORIC HEATING. SIMILARLY IT IS POSSIBLE TO DERIVE, FROM TWO FURTHER TERMS, THE LOSS OF IRREVERSIBILITY BY THE GOUY-STODOLA EQUATION. THEPAPER GIVES THESE RESULTS FOR AN IDEAL GAS.
