EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH INVOLVING HUMAN SUBJECTS SHOWS THAT COOL OFFICE TEMPERATURES FORESTALL THE DEVELOPMENT OF FATIGUE AND MAY BENEFIT PRODUCTIVITY TO A LIMITED EXTENT. WAYS SHOULD BE SOUGHT TO KEEP THE BENEFITS OF COOLER OFFICE TEMPERATURES WHILE AVOIDING DISCOMFORTS NOW ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. A NUMBER OF REASONS ARE PUT FORWARD TO ENCOURAGE A QUEST FOR CONDITIONS THAT WILL OPTIMIZE HUMAN AND ENERGY EFFECTIVENESS IN OFFICES.
