Summary

PROVIDING ENOUGH VENTILATION WITHOUT DRAUGHT IN THE OCCUPIED ZONE OF OFFICE BUILDINGS IS ONE OF THE MAIN PURPOSES OF AIR CONDITIONING. RECENTLY DISPLACEMENT AIR CONDITIONING, SUCH AS AN UFAC SYSTEM WITH AIR OUTLETS ON THE FLOOR PANELS, HAS BEEN INTRODUCED AS A SYSTEM WHICH CAN BOTH OBTAIN EFFICIENT VENTILATION AND PREVENT DRAUGHT IN THE OCCUPIED ZONE. THE PAPER DEALS WITH THE SUBJECTIVE EXPERIMENTS UTILIZING AN FCSSE. THE AIR FLOW RATE AND DISTRIBUTION OF AIR FLOW WHICH CAN PROVIDE COMFORTABLE CONDITIONS WITHOUT DRAUGHT WERE FOUND FOR THE OCCUPIED ZONE OF PRACTICAL OFFICES.
