THE HIGH AIR-CHANGE COEFFICIENTS NECESSARY IN SMALL REFRIGERATED STOWAGE COMPARTMENTS WITH A HIGH SPECIFIC THERMAL LOADING, SUCH AS THOSE IN SHIPS, RAIL WAGONS, AND ROAD VEHICLES, CAN LEAD TO EXCESSIVE DRYING OUT OF BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE GOODS. THE JACKET COOLING SYSTEM PROVIDES A MEANS OF LOWERING THE THERMAL LOADING TO ALLOW AN AIR-CHANGE COEFFICIENT WHICH SHOULD OVERCOME THIS DIFFICULTY.
