Summary

EXPERIMENTAL < U >-VALUES HAVE BEEN DERIVED FOR ACTUAL AND SIMULATED BUILDING COMPONENTS INSULATED WITH FIBROUS MATERIAL. THEY COVER A RANGE OF THICKNESSES FROM 90 TO 360 MM AND THE VALUES COMPARE WELL WITH THEORETICAL VALUES CALCULATED USING CIBS METHODS. THIS REBUTTS EARLIERREPORTS WHICH SUGGESTED THAT THICK LAYERS OF INSULATION PERFORM LESS WELL THAN THEORETICALLY PREDICTED.
