Summary

This article will focus in the thermal performance evaluation of external walls and roofs according to the main standards and certification processes actually used in Brazil. It will discuss the prediction of minimal thermal behavior of those surfaces according to the Brazilian Climatic Zoning proposed in 2005 by the Brazilian Technical Standards Organization. The thermal standards and certifications processes were established from 2005 to 2010 and values proposed among them slightly vary. The article intends to discuss if this variation implies in different surface behaviors of it could be simplified in order to make it easier for contractors and stakeholders to use.
