Summary

Heat pipe efficiency for space thermal engineering is widely recognized and illustrated. Among the majority of heat transfer tasks, the use of heat pipes for high precision optical devices' thermal control is interesting and challenging. Before mounting on a vehicle, all heat pipes have to pass through a lot of tests according to corresponding standards and programs. The main heat pipe qualification test sequence according to the ESA standard is discussed.
