Summary

In this work, the ammonia adsorption/desorption pressure–concentration isotherms (PCIs) of CaCl 2 , NaBr and MnCl 2 are measured. The ammonia adsorption/desorption enthalpies are estimated using the measured PCIs. Two different schemes of advanced sorption systems namely; Double Cooling effect Resorption System (DCRS) and Double Cooling and Heating effect Resorption system (DCHRS) are analysed us- ing the measured PCIs and estimated thermodynamic properties. The heat recovery process is realized between high temperature salt and medium temperature salt that facilitated to produce multiple thermal effects for only one single heat input. The cooling coefficient of performance of DCRS is increased by two times in comparison to the cooling COP of Basic Continuous Resorption Cooling System (BCRCS) while that of DCHRS and BCRCS are almost equal. The overall coefficient of performance of Double Cooling effect Resorption System (DCRS) and Double Cooling and Heating effect Resorption System (DCHRS) are observed to be 0.69 and 1.19, respectively.
